Jobs & the Economy
- I will work closely with county and regional economic development organizations to support their work and will vote to give them the resources they need to succeed.
- I will support adult education efforts to train our workforce for the jobs of tomorrow through Ivy Tech and other community colleges.
- I will fight to create a better investment environment in our district by looking for ways to reduce the tax burden on businesses.
Taxes & Spending
- I will support efforts to stop the alarming growth of government through property tax caps and other restrictions on government spending.
- I will vote against wasteful government spending in the state budget just as I have done on the Whitley County Council.
- I will support an automatic taxpayer refund to send tax dollars back to taxpayers that is above what is needed to meet the annual state budget.
- I will work to eliminate Indiana’s inheritance (death) tax.
Education
- I will support efforts to create more competition in K-12 education in Indiana through charter schools, vouchers and tax credit programs to provide parents with more choices.
- I will work to create an education environment in Indiana where teachers are rewarded for their achievement in the classroom rather than their tenure in the profession.
- I will vote to direct more of our tax dollars to the classroom and less toward administration in public schools.
