Indiana State Senator Jim Banks has represented Northeast Indiana since his election to the General Assembly in 2010. Currently, he serves Wabash County and portions of Whitley, Huntington and Grant counties.
Banks is the Director of Business Development for the Hagerman Group, a general contracting and construction management company based in Fort Wayne. He is a graduate of Indiana University and is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration at Grace College and Seminary. He also serves in the U.S. Navy Reserves as a supply corps officer.
Through the years, Banks has been honored with various recognitions for his service. This year, he received Ivy Tech Community College’s Distinguished Public Official Award. In 2011, he was recognized as one of the top rising Republican legislators by Governing Magazine and was named to Northeast Indiana’s “Future 40 Leaders under 40” list in 2008.
He lives in Columbia City with his wife, Amanda, and their three daughters, Lillian, Elizabeth and Joann.
